We use functional thermoactive chewing gums to create sustained release of actives and their enhanced absorption through the oral mucosal tissues and into the systemic circulation where actives may be liposomal nanoencapsulations for increases bioavailability and shorter onset of action. We have performed a Franz cell diffusion study and in situ human thermal plots of the chewed gums. Next steps include fluid bed coatings at a CDMO for our main anhydrous thermal salt engine, a clinical efficacy study and a human bioavailability study.
