Traffikgene®: a non-viral, peptide based gene delivery technology

We are developing proprietary non-viral carriers for nucleic acid delivery.

Our technology platform allows for the generation of hundreds of unique peptide amphiphile carriers, which can be screened by high-throughput approaches to find specific molecular vehicles for a variety of in vitro or in vivo delivery needs.

Supramolecular complexation of carrier with a variety of nucleic acid cargos (pDNA, mRNA, siRNA, ASO) yields suitable nanoparticles for in vitro, ex vivo or in vivo gene delivery. Remarkably, the TraffikGene® technology allows for single carrier formulation and does not require addition of PEG-lipids or cholesterol to achieve efficient and safe delivery.

Tunability of carrier composition and formulation conditions allows for differential tropism in vivo, with carriers already identified for >90% selectivity for spleen or lungs, while others can reach high-value tissues such as the bone or brain. Our technology is broadly applicable through a variety of administration routes, with an outstanding safety profile even after repeated or high dosing regimes (no cytokine stimulation, low carrier immunogenicity) systemically.

Preclinical validation has been achieved in prophylactic and therapeutic mRNA vaccination as well as mRNA-based enzyme replacement therapy.

CMC-ready technology, with GMP-like carrier manufacturing and formulation step already validated.
