Company

Soleris is a microbial testing platform that quickly detects microorganisms, enabling evaluation of protective coatings against microbial corrosion. It offers fast, reliable results without special expertise, using optical color changes to indicate bacterial growth.

Overview

The Soleris microbial testing platform is designed to rapidly and accurately detect microorganisms such as bacteria, molds, and fungus. This solution is particularly useful for evaluating the efficacy of protective coatings like silicone, vinyl, polyurea, and acrylic against microbial corrosion. By monitoring changes in the chemical characteristics of the media in Soleris vials, the platform provides an efficient method to predict the performance of coatings in preventing microbial-induced corrosion.

Technical specifications
  • Rapid Detection: Soleris can detect bacterial presence in as little as 1 hour and molds within 48 hours, significantly faster than traditional methods.
  • User-Friendly: The platform does not require special expertise, making it accessible for various users.
  • Optical Sensing: Changes in color and fluorescence, measured as optical units, are monitored by a photo detector and recorded by the software.
  • Positive Controls: Utilizes bacterial strains like Pseudomonas and Bacillus spp. as positive controls to assess the ability of coatings to resist microbial growth.
Technology readiness level

Currently at Technology Readiness Level 2, the Soleris platform has been validated in lab settings for microbial load testing in herbal extracts. Future validation plans include testing various coatings within Soleris vials to further assess their resistance to microbial-induced corrosion.
