Compact UV-C LED water sanitization module
PURUS is a compact water sanitization module developed by STE – Sanitizing Technologies and Equipment for integration into water dispensers, professional equipment, appliances, wellness systems and OEM applications. Already available on the market, it provides continuous microbiological control of flowing water without chemicals, consumable disinfectants or traditional UV lamps.
Microbial contamination can develop inside tanks, pipes, dispensers and water circuits, even when incoming water initially meets quality requirements. PURUS addresses this risk at the point of use, helping improve water hygiene, system reliability and user safety.
The module uses UV-C LED technology to expose flowing water to a controlled germicidal dose. Its hydraulic and optical design maximises the interaction between UV radiation and water inside a compact treatment chamber. PURUS can treat clear water at flow rates of up to 5 litres per minute and can be integrated into new or existing systems.
It is available with 12/24 VDC or 230 VAC power supply, a remote electronic driver and an IP67-rated structure. The UV-C LEDs have an expected operating lifetime of more than 30,000 hours, reducing maintenance compared with mercury-based lamps. No chemicals, odours or residues are added to the treated water.
Laboratory testing in clear water has demonstrated microbial inactivation above 99% in a single pass under tested operating conditions. PURUS is engineered for industrial use, scalable production and OEM integration.
Current development focuses on expanding application-specific configurations, supporting customer integration, optimising manufacturing costs and increasing commercial deployment across water dispensing, professional equipment, wellness and other industrial markets.
