Tastee Tape offers a PFAS-free, biodegradable film made from plant-derived biopolymers, ideal for ready-to-eat packaging. With a dense covalent network for enhanced barrier performance, these films are thermally stable, compostable, and meet FDA and EU compliance.
Tastee Tape introduces an innovative PFAS-free, cross-linked biopolymer film designed for sustainable ready-to-eat (RTE) packaging. This film is crafted from plant-derived biopolymers using a solvent-free mechanical process, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional PFAS-based laminates. The technology focuses on achieving thermal stability and structural integrity, even under acidic conditions, by forming a dense covalent network within the polysaccharide matrix. These films are not only home-compostable within 90 days but also provide a lower-carbon footprint, aligning with clean-label and sustainability goals.
This technology is currently at Technology Readiness Level 4, indicating that the technology has been validated in a laboratory environment. Further development is planned through a structured 18-month roadmap, which includes formulation refinement, performance validation, and regulatory compliance activities.
Tastee Tape is a company focused on developing sustainable, edible, biodegradable food packaging solutions to reduce plastic waste and environmental impact.
