Company

Soteria Formulations has developed a biodegradable, microplastic-free delivery matrix fabricated from crop residues to extend the release of active ingredients in turf fertilization. This platform enhances field efficacy by reducing inputs and off-target losses while maintaining performance.

Overview

Soteria Formulations introduces an innovative biodegradable delivery platform designed to enhance turf fertilization efficiency. This microplastic-free lignocellulosic matrix is sustainably produced from crop residues and crafted into tunable pelleted granules. The platform allows for customizable release profiles of pesticides, fertilizers, and biologicals, enhancing active ingredient performance by extending their release, reducing inputs, and minimizing off-target losses.

Technical specifications
  • Composition: Biodegradable lignocellulosic matrix from renewable biomass
  • Formulation: Tunable pelleted granules for varied release profiles (rapid, extended, mixed)
  • Capacity: High load capacity with porous morphology, minimizing soil leaching
  • Applications: Proven efficacy in nematicide, fungicide, and insecticide delivery across six crops
  • Production Scale: Currently at 1 ton per day
Technology readiness level

The platform is at Technology Readiness Level 5, having demonstrated extended performance in field trials over 10 years across 8 countries. It is now progressing through prototype testing phases for nitrogen source loading, soil-release studies, and turfgrass response evaluations.
