Revolutionary electrostatic spray-drying technology creates stable postbiotic-prebiotic microcapsules for oral microbiome modulation. Compatible with toothpaste and mouthwash, this solution promotes oral health by enriching beneficial microbes and reducing gingivitis.
The innovative solution of electrostatic spray-dried postbiotics-prebiotics focuses on enhancing oral health by modulating the microbiome. Developed through a cutting-edge electrostatic spray drying (ESD) process, this system co-encapsulates selected postbiotics and prebiotic substrates within a food-grade polysaccharide matrix. The microcapsules, sized between 10-50 µm, are designed for incorporation into oral care products such as toothpaste and mouthwash. Upon use, the system releases actives through controlled hydration, which enriches beneficial oral microbes and buffers pH levels, thereby reducing the risk of gingivitis.
Currently at Technology Readiness Level 3, this solution is in the experimental proof of concept stage. Future validation phases will include ingredient selection, function proof via in vitro models, stability and safety studies, and prototype development for oral-care formats.
