Project:
Our novel bio-pesticide is a synergistic microbial consortia that relies upon multiple mechanisms of action to create a pathogenic environment for insect pests. We have formulations for foliar, in-furrow and seed coating applications.
Rationale Soil borne pests including wireworms and cutworms cause significant economic losses to US farmers. Chemical pesticides, including neonicotinoids, significantly degrade soil health by persisting in the environment for months or years, accumulating in non-target areas, and disrupting the soil food web. They reduce the abundance and function of beneficial microbes, earthworms, and insects, impairing decomposition, nutrient cycling, and natural pest control. Biological alternatives are needed to reduce these adverse off-target effects. Our product targets eggs, larvae and adult insects.
Preliminary Data: Small-scale evaluation of a foliar formulation suggests the product reduced the incidence of aphids in Hawaiian Mao and lacewings in avocados. Studies to assess the product’s ability to kill(1) coconut rhinoceros beetle larvae and adults, and (2) Coffee borer beetles are expected to commence during Q’1 2026.
Seeking: We are seeking collaborators for larger scale trials to enable regulatory registration and commercialization in the US, Canada, Mexico and Latin America.
Ancient Organics Bioscience, Inc. is a biotechnology company that develops advanced microbial inoculants designed to regenerate and detoxify soil. The company utilizes its proprietary MetaFlux metabolic modeling algorithm and genomic precision to identify and assemble robust microbial consortia, which are communities of microbes that work symbiotically to fix nitrogen, solubilize phosphate, and break down toxins. By fortifying these formulations with their NutriCarrier prebiotic and postbiotic matrix, the company creates solutions that persist in the soil to restore health, improve nutrient availability, and increase crop yields while reducing reliance on synthetic chemical fertilizers.
These solutions are particularly significant for farmers and growers addressing challenges such as unproductive soil, poor plant health, and environmental contaminants, including the degradation of glyphosate and sequestration of heavy metals like lead and arsenic. The company's flagship product, PaleoPower, has received full organic certification from the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) and the California Department of Food and Agriculture. By leveraging evidence-based microbial technology to rebuild soil vitality and reduce chemical dependency, Ancient Organics aims to support sustainable agriculture and the production of safer food, backed by research and field trials conducted by experts in microbial ecology and plant pathology.
