My research program focuses on biomass conversion by adopting the circular bioeconomy approach that enhances resource recovery from every co-product of biomass conversion and thus closes the materials loop. We develop innovative processes and techniques to overcome the technical hurdles associated with the conversion of low-grade biomass and residues (e.g., food waste, crop residue, husk, straw, manure, and wood residue).
